So, as you probably heard in the journal entry entitled Immigration and junk food..., due to recent Chinese visa legislation I have had to plan my return journey sooner than planned.

I was worried about not being able to go home via rail as I had originally planned, but now I can afford to do so (I said to my mum that since she was paying for everything else, I'd pay for the journey home.) Here's my itinerary:

Sarah's Super Awesome Journey (take two)

Just over two weeks. Exactly six countries. Tremendously fun times.

Day 1: Depart from Beijing, China
Day 2: Arrive in Ulanbaatar, Mongolia
City tour of Ulanbaatar
Stay overnight at a Mongolian Ger (nomad tent) camp
Day 3: Horseriding on the Open Steppe
Stay overnight with a family of herdsmen
Day 4: Return to Ulanbaatar and depart from station
Day 5: On train, crossing from Mongolia into Russia
Day 6: Arrive in Irkutsk, Russia
Transfer to Listvyanka, Lake Baikal
Day 7: Day on the shore of Lake Baikal
Day 8: One-night stay with a family in Irkutsk
Day 9: On train, across Siberia
Day 10: On train, passing from Asia into Europe through the Ural Mountains
Day 11: Arrive in Moscow
Day 12: Explore Moscow
Day 13: Depart from Moscow
Arrive in St. Petersburg
Day 14: Explore St. Petersburg
Day 15: Depart from St. Petersburg by bus
Day 16: Arrive in Tallinn, Estonia
Day 17: Plane departs from Tallinn
Plane arrives in London, England :)

This is just a rough itinerary and is by no means concrete but should give you a rough idea of what my plans are! It's six months away but I have to arrange it now...

This journal is helping me think, sorry if it's a bit boring.

EDIT 09/07: Seeing as I've already visited Germany (which I can easily do again) and France (countless times), I've decided to save money and go straight home from Warsaw. My mum is going to meet me in Poland and fly back home with me :D

EDIT 10/07: Due to the fact I'm seeing St. Petersburg, I am now travelling to Estonia and then flying home rather than going to Warsaw. My mum is then meeting me there and coming home with me.

Mongolia, eh?

I've been there. I suggest a) bringing your own food and b) bringing something WARM. Especially if you're going 6 months from now.

I'm just another bitter white person clinging to my god and my gun.
I'm jealous. I wish I could do something like that. :(

She promptly turned into a cumberland sausage. "YOU HAVE A WOMANS PURSE, MY LORD!" She exclaimed arousingly.
:bucktooth: I've been told all this already. But thank you!
