I've been planning for a while on having my chance to give something back to the community which has supported me in both my artistic and personal endeavours over the past year - you guys at deviantART, I totally you! To show my appreciation, I've opened up a contest for you to take part in. I think this place is great for getting people together to do awesome things, and there are some very talented peeps out there!
I'd like you guys to make me some art. Personalised, interesting, exciting, perhaps humorous! It'll be used as part of the pink-robots.com layout, that I'll produce especially for the picture, giving it pride of place and an excellent display? What better way to advertise your work? And best of all - there are prizes. Want $150+ worth of nifty swag? Then join in the fun!

Submit your entry as a deviation, or upload it to another server such as tinypic.com Send me a note on deviantART, or an email to prettymecha @ gmail dot com with a link to the work, or send it to me as an email attachment Closing date is February 4th 2007. This may change at any time, in which case you will be notified.
.:. JUDGING .:. The number of entries is halved into a shortlist Shortlist is presented to a panel of judges Judges all have knowledge, expertise or skill in a given field (so they know their stuff!) Your name will not be shown to the judges to avoid bias Not just skill will be judged upon - effort, care, thought and originality will also be prime factors. So don't worry if you don't think your art is amazing - you can still win for having a good idea Judges may enter the contest themselves but if they do, a substitute will be found to judge their work
If you'd like to be on the judging panel let me know and I'm sure to add you.
.:. SCORING .:.
...is done as thus:
A score out of twenty and a little comment is given for each piece Ten of those twenty points are for how good the picture looks The other ten is for the idea of the picture. Did it make the judges laugh or cry? Was it original? Was it thoughtful? From all these scores an average is worked out and the highest average scoring artist will win the contest

The competition closing date is at 12AM GMT on February 4th 2007.
Winners will be notified when the competition has ended through a deviantART Note or an email.
Winners will be announced, along with the prizes they have won respectively, in a deviantART Journal entry.
No one will be expected to give their personal details (i.e. real name, address etc.) unless they win the competition. This information will be kept strictly confidential and will not be passed onto any third parties.
This competition is not held officially in connection with deviantART itself.
The time taken for the prizes to be sent is thus far unknown. If you have won a prize, you will be given notification of its eventual postage.
I reserve the right to make changes to any terms or conditions of this contest at any time.
Submitted entries to this competition are done assuming the entrant knows that I reserve the right to use their submitted graphics for any future layouts I might plan. However, in the event that I use another entrant's artwork for a later layout they will be given full, written credit along with a link to their deviantART Gallery, website and/or email, should they choose to have it shown. This should however work in your advantage as your artwork will gain recognition through its usage on the site.
